Driveway Cleaning: Your Questions
Will pressure washing damage my block paving?
Not when it is done with the right pressure and technique. It does wash sand out of the joints, which is why we always brush fresh kiln-dried sand back in afterwards to keep the blocks locked together.
How long does a driveway clean take?
Most domestic driveways can be cleaned and re-sanded in a day. Larger areas, heavy moss or a patio as well can take longer, and the sand needs a dry day to brush in properly.
Should I have my driveway sealed after cleaning?
It is optional. A sealer can deepen the colour, make oil and dirt easier to clean off and help hold the jointing sand, which slows down weeds. Ask us and we will say plainly whether your paving would benefit.
When can I use the driveway again?
You can walk on it straight away. Cars can go back on once the joints have been sanded, or once any sealer has fully dried if you have chosen one — we will tell you when on the day.
